Buddhism in the 21st century – Containers and Contents by Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl

We are happy to announced that Mitra Karl  Brunnhölzl is going to give a talk, “Buddhism in the 21st century – Containers and Contents “.

Mitra Karl's Teaching Poster - English

”Buddhism has a long history of migrating and adapting to many Asian countries and cultures. Nowadays, the dharma is also flourishing in non-Asian countries, which interestingly has triggered a renaissance of the Buddhist teachings in a number of Asian countries as well.  At the same time, it appears that a significant number of people in those Asian countries are also very much intrigued by the new developments outside of Asia.”

During this weekend, we will explore how Buddhism has already and continues to change and evolve at the crossroads of tradition meeting changes and which advantages and potential dangers this exciting development may have. We will also explore what meditation is and what not.

Date : 2-3 April, 2016 (Saturday and Sunday)

Time: 3:00pm to 5:30pm

Venue: Utpala Meditation Center
(1/F., Willie Building, 222 Des Voeux Road Central, Sheung Wan)

Teachings will be conducted in English with Cantonese Translation
